What an AI sales rep does for an MCA broker
In short
An AI sales rep calls the leads your team no longer works, says it is an AI, and asks if the merchant still needs capital. Merchants who want to talk go to your reps by live transfer, a booked callback, or your own application link. Your team works those opportunities and marks what funds.
The short version
An AI sales rep is a voice agent that works leads for your shop. It makes the calls your reps don’t have time for, finds the merchants who still need capital, and hands them to your team. Your closers keep doing what they do best: closing.
At LeadRefinery, it starts with the leads you already own. Aged leads are leads you already paid for. Once a lead ages out, that spend is written off. Most leads need more touches than a rep can spare, so floors pick breadth and the old files go unworked. That is the gap an AI sales rep fills.
Which leads it works
Today the agent works aged leads: files your floor stopped calling. It only calls the files you give it. Leave live leads and your reps’ pipeline out, and it never calls them.
The plan is an agent for every stage of a lead’s life. On the roadmap: agents for new inquiries, application follow-up, funded merchants and renewals. Those stages are not live yet.
What a call sounds like
The agent confirms it has the right person, then says it is an AI. Then it asks the simple question: do you still need capital?
A few things it never does:
- Leave voicemail drops
- Pretend to be a person
- Create fake urgency
If a merchant asks to stop, contact ends on every channel.
What happens when a merchant wants to talk
There are three ways a ready merchant reaches your team:
- Live transfer. The agent connects the merchant to your rep on the spot. Your rep hears a short brief first, so they know who is on the line and why.
- Booked callback. The merchant picks a time. Your rep calls them then.
- Application link. The merchant gets your own application link by text or email. We never collect bank logins.
If a merchant says “check back later,” the lead comes back on the right date and builds your future pipeline. More on choosing between these in live transfer vs callback vs application link.
What your team does
Three things:
- Upload your leads.
- Work the opportunities the agent delivers.
- Mark what funds in the web app.
You or a manager do that part. Everything else shows up in the web app too: delivered opportunities, future pipeline, live calls, and a record of every call with a recording, a transcript and one clear outcome. Your reps don’t need logins.
Fully managed vs build it yourself
There are two ways to get an AI voice agent working leads.
Build it yourself. Voice AI platforms give you the parts. You write the script, buy and register phone numbers, keep them healthy, set the cadence, and build the compliance checks. That works if you have engineers and time.
Fully managed. The vendor runs the system. With LeadRefinery, we provision and register the numbers and check their health every day. We set the cadence, timing and pacing for every lead. Every dial passes a compliance gate before it goes out. You send the leads and work the merchants who are ready.
For most broker shops, the question is simple: do you want to run a calling system, or do you want the opportunities? See how the platform is built for the guardrails.
Questions
- Does the AI sales rep tell merchants it is an AI?
- Yes. Every call confirms the right person, then says it is an AI. It never pretends to be a person.
- Will it call my live leads or my reps' pipeline?
- Only if you upload them. It only calls the files you give it. Today that means aged leads your floor stopped working.
- Do my reps need to log in to anything?
- No. You upload leads and watch results in the web app. Merchants who want to talk come to your reps by live transfer, callback or application link.
- Does it work for equipment finance or SBA?
- MCA comes first. Equipment finance and SBA lenders are next on the roadmap.
